Hi, question for you.
I try to make some IDM and glitch beat -like Aphex Twins-with Reason but I can't do this.
Someone has some suggestion or some good method to make it?

Lots of sample manipulation. Some IDM artists (like Autechre) refuse to tell what sort of equipment they use, so you need to do a lot of experimenting.

Maybe there are some sample CDs you can buy.

Victor.

Hi.There are tons of free refills for reason that you can check out. Start at this site http://www.quaketrap.com/home.html .You can check out the downloads area for a free refill that has some out rex loops. Also the jukebox has some cool songs. Keep an eye on BTs' site for hia release of some software he is developing. If you are familiar with his work you will already kind of know what kinds of software he will be offering. Taylor

No need to feel like a twat!

IDM = Intelligent Dance Music
EBM = Electronic Body Music (a term coined by Front 242)

Really I believe that this has been coined by Paolo Favati, the Punkow frontman.

Woah.. that's impressive! It would take me ages to put together a few minutes of what he's doing live, on the fly.

I need more software toys :) Well... and more skill, but at least I can just go out and buy the software!

For IDM there are glitch sounds in the standard Reason Factory Refill, but if you really want to FSU I'd suggest running the AU of either supatrigger or Livecut, Which remix rhythms and samples algorhythmically, (which is someway towards the way autechre do their thing) Other toys include Iamthemightyjungulator and moduloop. Which I think are standalone apps. You could always record their output using wiretap or similar and then chop that up and sequence it in reason.
