Sounds good in my head, but don't know how well it would execute...
Because so many songs get uploaded in a single day, what if any song that has not yet received a comment OR vote, "floats" to the top of the new songs list?
This could keep a song indefinitely on the front page until someone votes OR comments. Once that happens (either condition is met), the song would move back to its "regular" place in line. This would also reduce the need to have a million songs on the front page (not that I'm complaining about the current number now).
I would also suggest a "starting date" for such a thing, because who knows how many songs might exists with 0 comments and 0 votes.
Just a thought...

![]() Magritte | October 04, 2006 12:19:49 PM Wasn't there some kind of function for this before? I seem to remember a box for songs that either had no votes or no comments or both. I'd love to have it back (or to have it for the first time, thank you my disappearing long-term memory) because honestly, while I'm very happy for those songs with massive participation and huge scores, I prefer to look for the ones that have gotten overlooked. I guess I'm projecting. |

I guess I'm projecting. You are right. There was a box for each, but some peopl only look at the music page, not the boxes (ME :D)). Therefore, if these songs moved to the top of the list, I'd check them out and provide some feedback, whether it'd be a comment, a vote, or both. |
October 04, 2006 12:34:58 PM Way back when there were fewer than 10,000 songs, I used to sort the music page by rating and then flip to the back pages to where the 0's were. It might be nice feature to be able to sort any of the columns on the music page in reverse order (if I'm dense and there is a way of doing this, please let me know!). | |
![]() BranDaMan | October 04, 2006 12:56:26 PM I think that would be a wonderful idea. Lately I have been trying to comment a lot more on songs, regardless if they are popular on here or not. Perhaps macjams should go back to the days when you had a day or two to look at songs before new posts were made on the front page... |

When you'd sort by the column header, it would sort in descending order the first time, in ascending order, the second time, and so on... |
