I have had a hard time getting comments to stick this morning. A new crazy bug has emerged...
I listen to songs in Tabs and often write one comment while listening to another song in a different tab. This morning, when I submit a comment and press "Submit and refresh", I am getting refreshed to a previously listened to song, and not the song I just commented on. I then discover that the comment from that previously listened to song has been doubled, while my latest comment never registers at all. How weird is that? It isn't happening all the time, but frequently. Enough so, I am stopping my comments for today until the bug is fixed...

![]() TEXASFEEL | August 22, 2006 11:05:08 AM I find if I post a reply and use the Quote option...preview what I have entered...the forum only posts the quote and not the reply. Only when I go back to the original entry and submit without previewing does it work. This causes a quote to appear with no reply. I often see that this happens to others too. |
![]() TobinMueller | August 23, 2006 8:56:08 AM Arg! I have now posted three comments on a single page. I give up! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS: I list the songs I want to hear in separate Tabs. I listen to the first song in the queue. After listening, I play the next song in the next Tab while I comment on the first song. The first song registers my comment fine. I have now listened to the second song and begin to listen to the third while writing a comment to the second song. After finishing the comment to the second, I press YES and then SUBMIT AND REFRESH, only the page refreshes not the second song, but the first song which now has posted my original comment twice (and failed to post the comment to the second song). This morning, the same thing happened when I continued and tried to comment on a fourth song... posting my first comment three times on the first song page. It happens almost every time IF I am listening to a song on a different page then the one I am writing/submitting comments on. Please try and fix this bug, Simon! |

![]() TobinMueller | August 24, 2006 9:08:39 AM Ok, this morning I only entered comments on pages I was listening to, even tho I still used Tabs to queue the songs, and still got repeats reposted on pages previously submitted. In the past, double posts were caused by delays in server response. Now they are being caused by a bug in the code. I am stopping comments for the day, hoping it gets fixed by tomorrow..? |
![]() TEXASFEEL | August 24, 2006 9:16:25 AM I now see what your saying Tobin. I haven't seen any comments from you lately on my recent song submissions. |
![]() TobinMueller | August 24, 2006 10:25:09 AM I've lost several comments to the ether, not realizing it has happened. If I don't press "Submit and Refresh" but just submit, then I don't realize the comment I was writing never got submitted (I don't realize a copy of an old one was duplicated on another page instead). (When I press Submit and Refresh, I can tell the bug is asserting itself becuz the page that refreshes isn't even the one I am on at the moment, but a previous page that now has a duplicate old comment attached.) I think 45% of my last 15 comments went haywire, so I'm waiting for a bug fix. Too frustrating otherwise. I'll catch up on your stuff soon! |
![]() TEXASFEEL | August 24, 2006 11:18:05 AM You know actually that might be a Safari Bug. There is an option to submit a bug to apple. |
![]() deputydoofy | August 25, 2006 3:10:23 PM It may just be a Safari bug. I tried duplicating most of what you said using Firefox and all comments posted just fine. Of course, I could be doing the method of MJ-comment-confusion incorrectly. B) |
![]() TobinMueller | August 25, 2006 3:56:20 PM Quote by: TEXASFEEL You may be right. I usually use Safari in MJ. (I mutlitask using Firefox for other things.) So I tried comments using Firefox and everything worked normally. Either Simon fix it, or Safari is to blame! (I'm still hoping Simon can figure out why Safari does this and fix it, since I really want to continue using Safari.)You know actually that might be a Safari Bug. Thanks for noticing. |
![]() TEXASFEEL | August 25, 2006 10:18:59 PM I usually like safari the best. I do get bugs on occasion but I'm hooked on the tab option. |
![]() TobinMueller | September 10, 2006 10:09:35 AM I hope I'm not jinxing anything, but it seems this bug is fixed! I've been using Safari all morning and it works perfectly. Thanks, Admin! |
