Hello, looking for some guidance on "boosting the volume" on my finished MP3's.
What I am currently doing is:
1) Recording all the individual tracks with the maximum gain possible (right up to red lining and risking distortion).
2) Normalizing all the component digital audio tracks separately.
3) Then I am using the "bounce to disk" feature, selecting all of the preferences to give me the highest possible quality MP3.
Somehow, the overall volume on the finished MP3 is lacking in my opinion. It does not seems as loud as other artists tracks. Is there a trick to using "bounce to disk" that will saturate the file with gain and give the finished MP3 a little boost?
I'm probably missing something mainstream here, but decided to ask anyway!

Thanks John If you have "Channel Strip", there is an EQ gain, and Post-Compression gain. In most of the compression/limiter plug-ins, there should be "gain" dials or sliders. MDA MultiBand assists in "presence". Also, post-production in PEAK can add the gain you require. Beware of clipping, though. |

This seems to be the area I'll get the most bang on my buck, and possibly the cleanest solution to getting a LOUDER, more prolific mix. :-) |
