Okay, so I get excited about the music here, but it just seems that everyone is just blowing the doors off w/ being creative and putting out some quality stuff lately - I mean really - And all we have to do is say hi! nice job, I'll take one please... -
There is, Thoddi, "blue all over" w/macgalver here
"You're so nice" - colab w/ DirtyWinston by moorlandt here
And PV, "Night Cats" here so freakin groovy
The composer, " (No.21)" here this piece is masterfully done
And there is Dreadman and Alannah, "You Can't Make Me Love You" here
And then there's Mungoism (McBoy w/ Mungo) by Mungo here
And Jiguma, Gulaga Dreaming here I d/ l always his stuff before I ever hear it.
And "A Second Life" by TEXASFE here -- Made me cry --
And there's, Turning Point KOVIII by Parichayaka here This is just wonderful
Lullaby 4 Aja Coco(Jiguma) here
And then there's Datafunk's new one, Ziti has a great new tune -- EE always has great stuff up - Springclock's new tune is killer - Smokeyvw, a new artist has a host of some great stuff he's posted -- Thetiler, Bug67, Lean, rschletty, Joanna, Charliechen, Ginz111 and Z293; all of these guys have posted some great stuff - I''ve only mentioned what I 've heard and commented on and I didn't leave anyone out on purpose. Mostly, it's just too ridiculous to try and name them all.
Maybe it's just me - I've always, always wanted to work in a record shop, so hanging out here is like a silly little dream come true for me. I get a stupid little buzz when I here good music and in the last couple of days, I've been getting drunk w/ it - It's felt like I've taken in more than my share and I almost feel guilty so I felt compelled to express my grattitude here. I'm getting some great new music and I can't believe that no one else is raving on about the selection here, so if you'd like to take the opportunity, please do so. Everyone deserves it - Thanks for letting me go on like the crazed music fanatic that I'm turning out to be. Peace! - Dion

![]() moorlandt | June 20, 2006 1:49:06 PM Hey man, I think you're one of the finest people here around. I regularly read your comments on MJ-ers tracks, and they're always extremely creative and heartwarming. Thanks for being here with us, with me. Walter |
![]() Crash Control | June 20, 2006 1:51:04 PM I agree. There's a lot of really impressive stuff on MacJams. It's great that we all put so much time and effort into our music and are able to have some place to put it and get some feedback. But the array of talent on here is truly amazing. I really like when jammers have a shout out to a particular link ( GenPet, YouTube, that1Guy....etc.etc..) Thank You all  |
![]() digitalnirvana9 | June 20, 2006 3:52:00 PM YES! MacJams is full of very talented people...I've been in and out of the music scene since the late 60's...I worked with the Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, Papa John Creach, The Dead and others as a technician doing Light Shows and later as a producer. I can remember Augie Bloome, the PR Man for the Airplane telling me in a hushed wisper that there were many in the corporate world eyeing the rock scene and were getting ready to come on board if the conditions were right. There was an excitement in the air when he said that...The problem was that once they DID come on board, the corporations also brought their aesthetics to the table. Altmont came, and the Love and Peace of Woodstock was turned into an evening of chaos and death. What sold, was duplicated over and over again with a few bright spots giving hope of an eventual renascence. Now that renascence has come, driven by technology and humanity's never ending quest to express itself in musical form. Have you ever noticed how much better listening to MacJams is rather than new music coming from the radio? Everyone here is part of a revolution. A revolution in technology, a revolution in musical comprehension and musical competency and finally, and probably most important a revolution in the spirit which dwells within the human heart. Thank you one and all for being part of it, Norman |

![]() composerclark | June 20, 2006 4:14:14 PM Quote by: digitalnirvana9 Right on, Norman! When I discovered this place I, like many people, probably, thought it seemed like a great place to try out my music to see what people thought of it. What I didn't anticipate was hearing lots and lots and lots of music that I REALLY enjoy, a heck of a lot more than much of the corporate pablum I hear on the radio. MacJams must have close to a hundred genres of music to listen to... where I live, the radio stations have about three genres.Have you ever noticed how much better listening to MacJams is rather than new music coming from the radio? There's no question (for me) that the production values of stuff you hear on the radio are generally better than those of the music we submit, but (a) production values of some MJ's tunes are pretty darn impressive, and (b) musical substance (and variety) is more important to me than production values anyway. And you're right, Cydniko; the overall level of submissions seems to be very high right now, including your own music! |
![]() Parichayaka | June 20, 2006 4:24:37 PM Cound't agree more with what's been said. The overall level of creativity, integrity and general sense of encouragement on this site is way beyond what I had expected from a "virtual" platform. Not to speak of the amount of extraordinary (and free!) music on this site. And with summer kicking in, it seems like everyone has an extra bit of enthusiasm and creative energy to offer. Great thread Dion! |

![]() ziti | June 20, 2006 6:16:26 PM i have been saying we have a revolution here ...if we want it...it is totally within the realm of possibility that some one here breaks out...and then the doors will be blown off. and yes...the quality lately seems to be going thru the roof...great material by a lot of people. time for a bigger iPod |
![]() Alannah | June 20, 2006 7:31:34 PM I just have to say .. that the ONLY music I have been listening to since October is ALL MACJAMS music ! And YES that's cause it is the BEST music ! You have no idea how many songs I have downloaded now .... I need a new hard drive ! |
June 20, 2006 7:34:11 PM Dion, Since you have come on board here at MacJams, your commentary has filled the forums and song posts with very detailed, encouraging words. As time went on, with my own participation, my words began to sound redundant and meaningless, whereas yours are always fresh and original. I apologize to you and the many others whom I do not comment on. As you have stated, there is an overwhelming amount of talent here, and it is almost impossible to continually listen, and offer critiques on so many songs. Not that my oppinion is what the doctor ordered, it's just an impass I must overcome to meet the compliance of quid pro quo. Thanks for reminding me of the importance of being part of a "community", by being an active "citizen".

![]() jiguma | June 20, 2006 8:16:33 PM On a more serious note, you are of course "spot on" (do you use that expression over there?) Dion. The quality of music here is incredible, and becoming more and more difficult to keep up with. Every day it seems I am getting emails telling me that one or more of my favourite artists has another new song up, and I am never disappointed. Well, that's not quite right - I am often disappointed that there aren't enough hours in my day to listen to as much music here as I'd like to. I could go on about how supportive everyone is - either by making constructive comments or by happily doing tracks on other people's work - or how talented so many are, but we all know this because it is the reason we're all here. MJ has certainly exceeded my initial expectations - and continues to do so. Neil B) |
June 20, 2006 11:05:24 PM It is interesting here at MacJams simply because the music and fun is free. So many places require the almighty dollar to do anything, and usually doesn't allow you to do near as much as this site does. Thank you VERY MUCH to the admin. and "hosts" who allow this to take place. I am not a web designer/master so this would be impossible for me if someone else didn't host and maintain this place. I have only been a member for about a month or so and I find myself here almost every day unless I am away from a computer! The music is awesome and the "community" is amazing. The ability to submit a song and have it constructively commented on is truly a treasure to songwriters! Thank you everyone.

Dude, no apologies necessary - You have always been one of my role models for how to offer up extended and meaningful comments - But you never ever want to compare what may be anybody's level of enthusiasm to mine - I'm just too easily excited and I am naturally expressive and in many cases, I'm feel like I'm overly expressive - My friends are very happy and somewhat relieved that I have music as an outlet and a way for me to express myself. Besides, we offer different things at different times and I could never offer the kind of technical knowledge support that you do - Never - So, respectfully, cut that out..., Alimar - But thanks for your concern - Dion |
