So I just upgraded to GB3 from GB2, and Rewire isn't working for me. Reason enters slave mode as it should, and the transport controls are linked and working correctly, but no sound comes through from Reason. Garageband tracks play as normal. It's working with Live just fine, as always.

I just noticed that when Reason is slaved to GB, levels show up in the Reason mixer, but not in the hardware interface output (I have everything wired to the main input), whereas in Live, levels show up in the hardware output just fine. I'm not altering the wiring at all.

Any ideas why Reason would stop routing from the mixer to the hardware out? Thanks, this is really frustrating.

Ok I got it, it's stupid, but it works, I look the Ableton folder out of my application support folder and now Reason works with Garageband, I don't know why that works, but it's working now, also, of course I don't know if you even have LIve on your computer, please let me know if you do or not.

by the way here's the path: users>yourname>library>application support>Ableton

have a good one

Ok, that's the silliest thing ever. BUT:

Oh my god, the sound of my reason tracks playing through to garageband was the sweetest thing my ears have heard in many moons. Now I can finally get back to this project...

Good thinking Mark, and thanks a ton for posting this solution. I owe you one, big time.

Hi.Just curious. Why would you use GB if you have Reason and Live? Why wouldn't you just rewire Reason into Live? Then you could use the midi FX in Live for triggering Reason. I use Reason3 into Live5. That way I can record the midi info in Live and still throw the snapshots around while triggering Reason. Also the arpeggeator is cool to be able to trigger Reason instruments with.Live has a much better audio engine also. Just curious as to why you would still be using GB with both of the others. As for the rewire issue.I don't have GB3 but if Apple has included more of the Logic stuff then.... In Logic when you open rewire you can click the topmost rewire inputs and you will not hear Reason if you have Live. The reason being that Lives' rewire outputs show up at the top of the list. To access the Reason rewire outs you need to scroll down until the rewire outputs start over again. The next set of rewire outs are for Reason. So if this sort of more specific way of selecting rewire objects has been included into GB3 that might be why you are experiencing this odd behaviour.
