I could tell you how to record Reason in ProTools, but I'm not sure how to do it in GB. Do you only use GB for your sequencer?

You can't record Reason into GB... BUT whatever is playing through ReWire into GB will record when you mix down your song.... So, just export your song with everything muted except for rewire, then drop that exported track back into a new channel in GB and Voila!!! Your reason tracks recorded...

If you need this in more detail, reply and I'll give a bit more detail (i'm at work, so this is a brief reply)

That's pretty much what i was explaining... yes.

It's just a limitation of GB... remember it is a free program. You get features like recording Rewire with software like Logic.

Hi.I'm at a loss here.Do you mean you have both GB and reason open and want to record a say subtractor patch in reason? Or are you meaning that you want to actually record a reason track into GB?..You can record a track in GB and then transfer the midi data into Reason.Or you can have them both running and record the data to reason as long as you have an instrument and track selected in Reason. That is another long form explanation however. So which is it? I'll try and help but need a bit more specific as to what you are attempting to do. T

Hi.I am wrong in regards to being able to export the midi file from GB. Unless there is a utility someone knows of. I use Logic. So I open the GB files from others into that. Then I can transfer the individual tracks midi info. into reason if I choose. You may be able to do that with GB but there are limits in regard to what a app. like this can do .For the money that is.Logic Pro costs approx.$1,000. Even being generous. ilife005 costing $100. And weighting it on GBs' side. A $50 app. ain't gonna be close.I wish it was not the case.Would have spared me a tad bit on the exspense side. BUT and yes a capitol BUT.There is no comparison between GB and Logic Pro.None.The degree of fine tuning is not available in GB.I am in no way slamming GB.Imagine if you can, The Beatles having this simple item at their disposal??? WOW.You have to know I have used Logic from the "5" era.No such thing as GB was even a thought then.Reason and GB can be used together. However there are sluggish issues in the actual triggering of reason via GB.The good news is there are work arounds. They are however time consumers.T

Whats up taylormorgan..I just posted something in regards to this in garageband forum. I'll explain my case. I have let see, 2 samples out of GB. With reason i have 2 redrums, a subtracter, and n19 sampler. How do I get them together as one track?

I usually use reason for redrum when I"m recording songs. What I do is craft the beat and then "Export loop as audio file". After that I just drag that file into GarageBand in a new instrument track.
