With Halloween approaching us, I thought this would be an appropriate thread.

What is the scariest music you can think of?

The theme to the "Exorcist".

BEAT THAT! It gives me the heeby jeebies every time.

Some of the Scariest Music songs I heard are "Knowhere" by Skinny Puppy and "Bathory Erszebet" by Sunn o))).But many others come to mind as I type...

Some Striborg songs are also claustrophobic and creepy.Twilight, a Lo-fi death metal project is scary as hell (the whole album). It´s like being trapped in a burning maze on the sewers of hell.

Also, for a long and slow nightmare listen to Pentemple (A Sunn o))) related project). There is even a exorcist hint on that one, because the tracks are called "Pazuzu 1" and "Pazuzu 2".

The Swans live album "Public Castration is a good Idea" is also very creepy. But not in a "boo" way.It scares when I imagine being on one of those venues.it seems that music made for sacrifices/rituals...

Well, there is that and there is my Villain Theme www.macjams.com/song/41997. Five_extra_arms is planning to use it in his neighborhood to scare the brats out of their skin. Feel free to do the same, everyone ;-)

Any other scary tracks here at MJ?

Take care!

Psychic TV's 'Dreams less sweet' in 'holophonic" sound ( 3d sound) is a bit mad on headphones.
Throbbing gristle.
The soundtrack to The Evil Dead 2 has some mad sounds on it.

If anyone ever played the Diablo computer game series, there was some pretty amazing and well done dissonant music for the soundtrack. Also the section when you are in the town above ground has a wonderful and lonely/erie acoustic guitar awash in deley. Awsome stuff.

Found a link to the Diablo music written by a guy names Matt Uelmen I think.

Also, Alice In Chain "Dirt" is pretty scary and depressing when taken in context of heroin addiction.

Check out Trent Reznor's music for the original Quake Game Soundtrack. Seriously disturbing atmospheres.

I'm so happy someone mentioned Throbbing Gristle..... great stuff

I'm going to have to throw in "No Quarter" by Led Zeppelin.....very moody/spooky tune.

I still like the simple but effective creepy, suspense bound, heebee jeebies of John Carpenters appropriately named "Halloween" theme:

this is a great version imo of the traditional folk song "Henry Martin" that also gives me the heebeegeebees, by Figgy Duff (featured on that Canadian Mounty series "Due South" if I recall):
