i'm pulling my hair out. i just recorded a song, and when I went to bounce it out of LE8, the beginning of the song wasn't playing; it only started when the MIDI came in, and then it ended about 10 seconds before the song was really over.
i also ended up with some popping sounds in the track that weren't there before bouncing, and some of the automation didn't work. crazy thing is, i used the logic effects. for example, when i held a long synth note and then moved up to another note, the portamento didn't work and i got a big thumping sound when the note started.
i've got the book and am working my way through it, but any tips or ideas why it does this? aargh. thanks for listening.

![]() michael2 | September 18, 2008 2:43:48 AM okay, Bryn was kind enough to help me out with the not recording part of the song thing. of course it was something ridiculously simple. i think i took care of the pops too (you need to deselect all of the tracks before bouncing). still need to work on the automation aspect though. |
![]() Montgomery California | September 18, 2008 9:26:04 AM Here is an LE8 Problem I am having... more of a question. I do 100% of FX processing in Logic now. It sounds a gagillion times better than my processor or GB for sure. I want to save my guitar settings as presets. I have done it in GB with great ease. In Logic, I see when it say "save channel setting as" but then the options it gives me on where to save don't make any sense. I want to to show up in my library alongside the rest of the Logic presets, and if that can't be done, then I want to save it somewhere easy for me to find and access. Any thoughts or suggestions? |
![]() Hens Zimmerman | September 21, 2008 4:05:46 PM If you choose "Save channel strip setting as..." your setting is stored in your ~Library/Application Support/Logic/Channel Strip settings folder, e.g. in the Instrument folder there. It then shows up both in the Channel Strip menu (if you click hold it in the channel strip) and the Library folder, where it is on top of the list. You are free to create a folder in that directory in the Finder to make your own subdirectory of preset channel strips. You can also move your channel strip setting files (*.cst) to the main Library folder on your machine, where you will find all the Logic Studio library folders, e.g. 01 Acoustic Pianos, 02 Bass, etc. You can even navigate directly to those directories when you say "Save channel strip setting as...", but it's perfectly fine to use the personal Library folder (yourname/Library) instead, because Logic Studio lists the contents of both folder in its Library menu. You do have to restart Logic Studio to see any changes you've done on the Finder level. Have fun, Hens Zimmerman http://henszimmerman.com http://soundsgoodpodcast.com |
