Announcing the newest Spotlight Interview:

Tobin Mueller: Talking With Myself.

I'd like to thank VicDiesel for proofing this (and all previous) interview text and for suggesting a few of the questions. I had fun talking with myself, although it is kind of weird condensing my own life, as if a bio actually captures something. Many flavors lost in the distillation process. I hope you get a better idea of a few of the roads I've traveled so far.

Feel free to ask additional questions either on this thread or in the blog comment section. As I've mentioned when announcing previous interviews, please add your own voice to the comment section in order to continue the narrative. I've included links to various offsite projects, CDs, etc.

Thanks to everyone who helped make my Macjams years so eventful.

It's a hell of a story, Tobin. Lots of cool anecdotes. You're a lucky man to have had music play such a big role in your life and to have been so successful with it. I hope you stick around here on MJ even though you're currently disenchanted.

Victor.

thanks for sharing you story with us Tobin. It was interesting, to say the least, to get to know where you've come from, some of the things you've done, and where you are right now. Thanks for all you do.

It would be nice to have read as (Tobin's Blog) a requirement for each and every MJer's acceptance into MJ. So inspirational, ups and down, high's and lows, but most importantly, such incredible creativity and such a grand grouping of life's experiences in one blog.
Enjoyed reading about your mom (a true artist's mother), meeting famous people and your take on them. I wondered about your experiences and what led you here to MJ and in-between etc And now I know more ! Very inspiring in so many musical ways!
Excellent !!!

WAY to GO Tobin !!!

A revealing portrait of a musician's life. This could be expanded into a book, chock full of anecdotes and insights.

I've been a fan of Tobin's music and an admirer of Tobin the man since I first joined MJ a few months ago. I had posted my first Prog Rock tune, which was all done on a computer. Shortly thereafter I discovered Tobin's Puzzle City under the Prog Rock category, and with my usual skepticism gave it a listen. I became instantly humble, and almost embarrassed by my own song, of which I had been so proud. Tobin's music just knocks me out, and has provided much needed inspiration.

Beyond that, his participation at MJ has been above and beyond the call of duty, if you ask me. Although he is ten times the musician that I am, I sense no conceit or arrogance from the guy. He bothers to stop by and listen to my humble offerings, and leaves comments that ring true and are genuinely well intentioned. It's his willingness to make time for other MJers that impresses me no end.
