Great. I'll be able to dig out my favourite spanking carol.

Spanking Carol?

Now there's a thought........

Sorry, I was a little distracted by that.

I'll be thinking of spanking Carol myself but I might also come up with something else.

Now where's the stoolball bat?

Cheers

Dick
Well, if you decide you want a break from spanking Carol and fancy contributing to this year's festive show then you'd be more than welcome, Dick 'S&M' Langford. :D

Well Christmas songs don't come much more 'classic' than this I posted last Christmas, so if it fits, it's yours, M

I'm gonna see if I can come up with something appropriate for your show between now and Nov 10th.

This could be a lot of fun, and who knows, maybe it'll end up being a classic. (not)

Okay, I've had a few song suggestions and a few people have already said that they are interested in possibly contributing a new song or new version of an old song/carol. To those people who have already suggested something, thanks and I will get back to you – I haven't listened yet but will do soon. To those who are thinking of doing a song for the challenge, I'll send you an email address. To anyone else, this is just a reminder – you have a couple of months if you'd like to do a Christmas or Winter themed song for my show. I look forward to hearing what you come up with! :)

Having heard what you've done with the songs in the Covers Challenge I can't wait to hear what you come up with! :)

Just wanted to remind everyone about this Christmas challenge. I'll be reminding people occasionally from now until the deadline, which is November 10th (so only just over a month away). I've already had a few contributions and a few people who've said they would like to do a new version of a Christmas classic or a brand new song with a festive or winter theme. If you're interested in getting involved then don't forget to drop me a note and I'll pass on an email address where you can send your mp3.

EG- I posted this song three years ago. Giving the current state of the economy and such it may have a little more relevance at this time. It's not exactly what I would call a "happy" song, however.

You are free to use it if you like.

I'll offer my carol "A Bell In The Valley" http://www.macjams.com/song/37406

It became a bit of a collaboration project: there are several different versions by different artists. You can find them on http://www.macjams.com/song/37345

The collaboration is still open, anyone is welcome to try it.

Bill

Thanks, Bill and Adam. I'll check those out. It might take me a while to get around to listening to all of those 'A Bell in the Valley' versions but it should certainly be interesting.

Some of these versions are just brilliant, which is largely a testament to the original 'A Bell In The Valley' as well as the creativity of various MacJammers. I will certainly be using some of these for the Christmas podcast, though it's just a question of narrowing it down to three or four of versions!

That's a great version but I'm not sure it'll make it into my top four favourite versions.
