Good interview! Unfortunately those 18 to 20 year old American soldiers know much less about the history of American music than you do. It is all hip hop, rap, trance etc. I find it amazing that America's great heritage of blues, folk, jazz and real early country music is much more popular in foreign countries than our own. Britain embraced Baez and Dylan with more fervor than we did.
What does it take to get a visa? Do you need a sponsor? A place to live? I'm sure there would be many here who would volunteer including myself although I'm not sure how good a reference I would be.
Be forewarned as a fellow human being who grew up in a warm climate. I worked four summers in Yellowstone Park which is near Bozeman and it can get mighty cold there. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana are the most beautiful spot on earth though. I find those mountains to be more spiritual than 99% of the churches and holy men on earth (no disrespect to those who find churches comforting. Just not my beliefs but I in no way mean to disrespect yours)/

Wow... God created the Mountains... ; ) Amazing to finally hear Your story You're in my Prayers as always !

Feter, that was a great interview and I loved hearing your voice. Your strength of character shines and I think everyone knowing/hearing your story will be willing your dreams and aspirations to become reality.... and soon. Very moving situation you're in, regards M

good stuff. good to hear more about you. If you ever get to Bozeman, you won't be too far away from at least one of your fellow macjammers.

Wow my friend. I'm glad I didn't miss this.

I'll keep praying you are able to get a VISA.

You should be here, among friends and co-conspirators for peace!

Take care!

Studio 360 has an interesting archive check it out all different things -

this is one "Stop-Loss Black 47, Stew
Making sense of the Iraq War on film, in rock music, and on-stage. The director Kimberley Peirce tells a hidden war story in "Stop-Loss." The band Black 47 writes songs for a surprising fan base: combat soldiers. George Packer transforms his article on Iraqi translators into a stage play. Plus, songs and stories from Stew, the creator of "Passing Strange," the new rock musical that’s revolutionizing Broadway."
..more - Dalai Lama, More Musicians(a Swede too!) Green, Autism ,Art

Feter I would love for you to be able to be here also. While this is such a sad story, hearing you talking about it actually gave me hope. I think with your strong will and hard determination you will indeed make it here! I shall keep the lights on for you and keep my clogs ready. :) Seriously, I will keep you in my prayers and pray for your health and safety. I really enjoyed hearing the interview. You sound great!!

Great story Feter. When you get to Bozeman look me up - I'm just a few minutes down the road. It definitely is a great area with beautiful scenery.
Thanks for posting this - great to hear you.

Just back from a couple weeks' hiatus, I will look forward to listening to this when I have some time. From what I read here, it sounds like an interesting listen. A lot of good people here are pulling for you, Feter... myself included. ;)
