So lately I've been getting asked about my recording set-up/techniques here at MacJams....So I made this video to hopefully answer a few of these all at once.... and I thought a video might be slightly more interesting, that way you can actually "see" what I'm talking about....those quotes around "see" are very pointless, so I'll leave them anyway... If you have any other questions or if there is something I missed please let me know and I'll fill in the gaps for you.... be warned.... my set up is quite silly and simple.... you may be disappointed....lol

![]() Tiny_Man_Inside | August 28, 2008 3:20:29 PM Cool... can't wait to watch this when I get home. Did you reveal any secrets? Maybe I'll do the same with my studio setup. Give me yet another excuse to show off my amp builds a bit more... Mason |

![]() mikey_d | August 28, 2008 9:08:10 PM Nice vid Ian! When you had mentioned that you play/record drums in the dining room, I wasn't sure how to picture that. It's nice to actually see how you work your magic. Oh and I'm no drummer, but I think one of those cymbals needs to be replaced ;) |
![]() sloparts | August 28, 2008 11:58:53 PM Thanks Ian It's cool to see what you use and how you use it. Makes it real to me, and also let's me know that a lot can be accomplished without having to have the latest greatest new widget in the musical arsenal. Video quality was very good although there were a few spots where more lighting would have helped. (the bass drum mic comes to mind) That said, I learned a lot from you efforts and I really appreciate the work you put into this. Thanks again Ian, it was well worth watching this for me, my friend. Be well and be cool, Ed |
