It makes a change to be able to catch one of your shows on this side of the world ... previously they've been in US evening time, which is the middle of the night for us. |

 guitapick | August 27, 2008 6:02:29 PM I had to split after the Beck tune ("Cause We've Ended as Lovers") (actually...that's Stevie)...but caught the stuff before it. 11:00 and kickin' out those sounds...man...impressive, Fran. You guys sounded great. All of you. Your drummer's solid as a rock and's got some very tasty fills. And you, Mr. Ziti (why'd he keep saying "Zeets"?), can pluck them strangs, you can, you can. I loved it. Live...you go, man. Cool that Simon wheeled by on his bicycle. Man after my own heart, there... BTW: ever considered doing "Freeway Jam" off that Blow by Blow album? Love to hear that one... |

 btransue | August 28, 2008 12:58:31 PM Hey, well, I definitely caught it! Huge thanks to Fran and the Band for doing this special show! It's a lot to ask to pull the band together for something like this, but it came off great. And for those of you wondering, no, Fran wasn't playing 2 guitars, the acoustic was played by John Burdick here in Sonoma, jammin live with Fran 3000 miles away. Huge thanks to John as well! And how cool was it that Simon shows up? Frickin Awesome I tell ya. Thank you Simon for making the trip, very cool to finally meet you, and best of luck on your continuing travels north. I should ave a link to my recording here shortly, probably by th end of the day today...maybe sooner. I'll post back here when it's up. Blaine |
