Three Cat Clem: Contemporary Blues Man.
I've been highlighting The Blues all week in the Mining the Database series, so check out the latest blog entries if you are a blues fan. The culmination is my interview with Three Cat Clem, a member who bridges the gap between traditional blues soulfulness and contemporary electric influences.
Three Cat Clem is a unique blues voice. I hope you get a kick out of the interview. He has played at the real CBGBs, owns many beat up old guitars (which helps provide an authentic sound), strings his guitar upside down... It's hard to get some blues guys to open up, I tell you.

 stratcat | July 18, 2008 12:20:33 AM 3 cat is a an excellent blues guitarist, he gets such great tone. His style of blues reminds me of many of the blues guitarists from the clubs in Chicago. You can hear the influences of greats such as Albert Collins, T-Bone, Jimmy Thackery, Hendrix...etc. Just all around good material, 3 Cats not afraid to let loose or hold back when the song calls for it. Great stuff. My favorite is Working Man Blues, great traditional electric blues. 3 Cat would be right at home at the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago. |
