about Mr. Boughter received his bachelor's degrees in Arranging and Music Education from the world-renown Berklee College of Music in Boston , MA, and his master's degree in Education from Nation University, CA.

Mr. Boughter is currently directing a large music program at a Southern California Jr. High School. The diverse music program includes a 55-piece advanced band, a growing intermediate band, and two 40-piece beginning bands. The school is a 1:1 Apple laptop school which fits in nicely with his computer Generated Music class. Performance responsibilities include six annual concerts, multiple community festivals, reoccurring honor band rehearsals and performances, and a series of special performances at Disneyland and elsewhere throughout the year.

First Presbyterian Church, Fullerton, CA
Mr. Boughter is responsible for all aspects of music performed on the church campus which includes adult, youth, and child choirs; orchestra performances; brass choirs; instrumental ensembles; hand bells; and the organist. He manages a staff of four music assistants and over 200 performers. Duties also include composing and arranging for all aforementioned groups. Performance responsibilities include weekly Sunday performances with the adult choral ensemble, Kirk Choir, choir and bimonthly performances for all other instrumental and vocal ensembles.
Instrumental Music Teacher and Freelance Composer, June 1984 – present
During the 2000–2001 school year Mr. Boughter served simultaneously in the position of musical director to four bands at two schools: Park Private School in Costa Mesa, CA, and Olinda Elementary School in Brea, CA.
Throughout the last 16 years, Mr. Boughter has been dedicated to furthering music education. His passion has led to experience in both the classroom and on a private level. Since 1984 he has taught private instrumental music instruction to students of varied ages. He has developed lesson plans and instructional programs for students learning to play the guitar, trumpet, piano, and beginning woodwinds. He also has taught music theory and general music education in the classroom on both a professional and volunteer basis.
In 1995 he was commissioned to compose an original choral composition for the First Presbyterian Church of Florence, AZ. In addition to his compositional work, Mr. Boughter also was honored to be the guest conductor at the debut of his composition titled "Dedication" at the church's 100-year celebration service.
As a full member of ASCAP, Mr. Boughter currently composes music for various business and personal endeavors. He has a rich body of work and an extensive list of compositions—his instrumental selection, "Paradise," was used nationally on ABC in 1998; he has over 15 compositions published over the past 6 years; he has been commissioned to compose music for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), USAirways, United Airlines, and Air Tour Holidays; and he has produced jingles for over 50 clients worldwide.

Cornerstone Entertainment, Inc., Orange, CA
C.E.I.'s core business was producing entertainment programming for the world's airline community and selling advertising time within the entertainment programming. Mr. Boughter's responsibilities as president included the management of 24 employees and independent contractors. Throughout his years at C.E.I., he implemented, executed, and oversaw all music and video production for clientele worldwide. At Mr. Boughter's direction C.E.I. successfully focused on business-to-business Internet marketing as the company's primary marketing strategy. As a pioneer in online business to business marketing Cornerstone billed over 3 million annually in advertising revenues and partnered with clients worldwide including ; Hilton Hotels, Chysler Jeep, Apple Inc, IBM, American Airlines, P&G, to name but a few. Additionally, he is well versed in Web design, HTML creation, database management, graphic layout adept at other creative online tools.
During his time at C.E.I., Mr. Boughter forged fluent and successful relationships in the entertainment industry. He continues to nurture those partnerships through his work on multimedia projects. He has extensive experience in music production, composition, arrangement, video production, project planning, script writing, story board creation, location shooting, and project budgeting. His directorial efforts, coupled with the hard work of his talented staff, were honored 18 times by the entertainment industry. He is the proud recipient of the prestigious Telly Award for outstanding production and entertainment.
Executive Producer of Entertainment Programming, June 1990 – July 1993
Sony Corp., Irvine, CA
During his years as executive producer of Entertainment Programming, Mr. Boughter managed eight employees in the music programming department and was responsible for the production of all audio and video programming at Sony. While directing the efforts of the audio programming department, Mr. Boughter worked with over 40 airline clients who utilized over 500 hours of programmed music every 2 months. His time at Sony allowed him to program over 50 different musical formats in dozens of languages; supervise music production; and report directly to ASCAP, B.M.I., and Harry Fox. In this position, Mr. Boughter also seamlessly maintained client management while working directly with all major record labels and management companies.
