about
Hello and welcome to my page here at MacJams.
I'm very pleased to let you know that my CD "Where Are We Now?" is finally available on my own TriangleDog label. The CD features 12 original songs, which were recorded as I travelled around the world between August 2006 and May 2007. Most of the songs you can hear in one form or another by clicking on the links below, however, the CD versions are all re-mixed and edited by myself, and re-mastered by Jim Bouchard at Songmastering.com. I'm very pleased with the end result!
I'm also donating the profits from the sale of the CD to a hospital in Cambodia which I visited whilst travelling through South East Asia. At least £3.00UK (about $6.00US) from each sale will go to the hospital, and all postage and packaging is free to anywhere in the world.
It goes without saying that I will be honoured and grateful for every unique sale, and for your interest and support.
For more information about the CD please check out my website www.phildolby.co.uk, where you can buy the CD via PayPal, and also read more about Kantha Bopha Childrens Hospital and our experiences in Cambodia.
Thanks, and best wishes to you all.

musicbackgroundI've been mucking about with music for years. As a kid I'd put two cassette recorders together and multitrack guitars until the hiss drowned out the music! At university in the eighties I was the singer and guitarist in an indie punk 3-piece that was heavily influenced by the likes of the Minutemen, firehose, Sonic Youth, Gang Of Four and a host of others. We put out a bunch of lo-fi 12" e.p's, and did a couple of sessions for the John Peel show on BBC Radio. GarageBand is the software I always wanted, and it allows me to do what I've always done - just easier, quicker and with better results.

musicskillsOk guitarist, but definitely more Neil Young than Eddie Van Halen. I also play bass, dabble with keyboards, and would love to learn to play drums (.......one day!)

music_hardwareHohner accoustic guitar, Fender Telecaster, Tokai Hardpuncher bass guitar, Edirol MIDI keyboard (only just purchased and haven't worked out how to use yet). Blue "Snowball" vocal microphone. MacBook with GB and a jack-to-minijack lead! What else do you need?
