musicbackground A little bit of this, a little bit of that...musicskills Initially I wrote "Too few to mention," but, upon further reflection while drunk*, I remembered that I do have a few. More than a few, really. I don't like to blow my own horn (because I can't; if I could, I'd list it below), but the list I have come up with is very impressive, at least to one of my cats.
1. I once played a piano note so loud it broke the wooden hammer. Sadly, I have never been able to replicate that feat.
2. Bar Chords played on piano without regard for intonation.
3. Capo removal, reasonable rates.
4. Flamenco-style vocal projection, used in ordinary conversation.
5. Harmonica (exhaling only; I remove it when inhaling, for obvious reasons).
6. Astral projection. Possibly this is musical?
7. Drinking beer upside down, while singing "La Marseillaise" in retrograde inversion.
8. Strumming (down, but not up; I don't understand the point of up).
9. Hook-slides into home plate while playing air banjo.
18. Humming tunelessly while driving and/or discharging firearms skyward in a festive fashion. Regretably, I lack a convertible.
*DISCLAIMER: composerclark neither condones nor advocate drunkeness, unless it makes a person more interesting, in which case he's all for it. composerclark does not consume alcoholic beverages, mostly.
composerclark says: Kids! Be cool, stay in school! But you might want to avoid staying in school 'till you're 35, like composerclark did, because it was a real drag to be poor for so long!
If, for some bizarre reason, you want to listen to a random selection of my music, just click on one of the songs from the list below. This song player is a somewhat cool feature, but I moved it down here because (a) The font size is so small that I can hardly read it, (b) I'm pretty sure people don't use this feature much, and (c) If people are nice enough to listen to my music, I'd rather they listen through the individual song pages, because they can read information and others' comments about the song there, which I'm pretty sure makes it more interesting. But, as I said, if you really want to hear a random medley, here ya go!
user_computer MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB/667MHz, Power Mac G5 Dual, a G4 450 which I still use because it runs Mosaic.music_hardware Korg Trinity keyboard, and a bunch of old stuff.music_software Mosaic, DP, Finale, Sibelius. Mosaic is my favorite notation programme, but since MOTU never made an OS X version, I begrudgingly am in the process of learning Finale and Sibelius. Once I get the hang of them, I'll probably stick with one. So far, I like Finale marginally better. Sibelius is very bossy, and I have always had trouble with authority figures (which is kind of ironic, considering my profession).keywords krakatoa, east, of, java, charles bronson, Frank Zappa, the entire cast of The Love Boat, especially Charo, Untalkative Bunny, Witold Lutoslawski, Mr. Acker Bilk, Toru Takemitsu, gangsta, trance, too, much, time, on, hands, feet, of, clay, pigeons
