~About me~
Born in the West Texas town of Midland, TX and raised mostly in Dallas, TX. I have lived in several places throughout my life and visited many more. One of the more interesting was Tehran, Iran in 1979 during the overthrow of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. Although I had always had toy guitars and sang in youth, church choirs prior, I also lived in Cobham, Surrey U.K. for a brief time in the '80s. This was the place of my formal musical origins. I began taking guitar lessons from a local musician at the age of 15. Also while living in Great Brittan, I was fortunate enough to tour most of Europe including the home of my ancestry, Czechoslovakia. I feel very grateful for the opportunities I was afforded as a child and young teen to see the world. As a young adult, I found myself drawn to sea. So, at the tender age of 18, I signed up for service with the United States Navy. Lucky for me, my first tour of duty aboard the USS Taylor allowed me to see the Persian Gulf again during Gulf War Version 1.0. Upon my return to the Taylor's home port of Charleston, SC, I received orders to attend school at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL to continue my education in propulsion engineering. My second tour of duty found me on the pre-commissioning crew of the USS Chosin in Pascagoula, MS. After ship construction was complete, we sailed to our home port of Pearl Harbor, HI. Despite all the wars and moving from place to place, I always kept music close to my heart. It was always there when I had no other friends or family. Music was my comfort and Higher Power. It came with me to my place of residence at present, Eagle River, Alaska. Here, I have honed my skills as a musician and a recording artist. I enjoy having the luxury of a well paying career as a Petroleum Pipeline Operator that affords me a private studio in my home, various instruments and equipment. As I continue my journey, I find myself slowing down both physically and musically. However, even though I don't play as often as I used to, I still find great comfort in the recording and engineering process. I will always enjoy the work of others' as well. MacJams has been much, much more than an inspiration over the time I've been here. I have made many, dear friends and, even though we cannot be close physically, we all share the same spirit. I love this place as it is probably the largest "venue" I will ever experience. You all, for the most part, have given me much more than support and encouragement. Thank you MacJams and thank you MacJammers!

Find sleepers (no comments in over a year)?

musicbackgroundI started singing with my mother at church at a very young age. I was always involved with a youth choir in one form or another either in church or in school. It seems as far back as I can remember, I always had a guitar in my hands. Mostly just toy guitars but still, it planted a seed. It wasn't until I was 15 and living in London, that I decided I wanted more from the guitar. I took lessons for a year and the rest, as they say, is history.

musicskillsI don't consider myself as really being a "skilled" musician. I feel that the one year of guitar lessons I took when I was young were way less than adequate. I would have liked to have a more formal training but things just didn't pan out. I am mostly self taught and get great satisfaction of what I can do. I haven't really played in many bands but the ones I have been involved in have been and are extremely rewarding.
