about

I'm a college student majoring in computer engineering, but I happen to really like music, particularly of the classical or humorous variety (especially Gilbert & Sullivan).

I studied piano regularly from when I was 8 until I was nearly 14, although I continue to practice on occasion (regrettably, I'm not much of a sight-reader). Just after I turned 17 I started studying voice, which I have continued to the present.

During my freshman year in college, I started a music technology minor, which involves the standard program of study for a music minor with some engineering classes I was taking anyway for my computer engineering major substituted for the regular instrument or voice lessons (since I don't take piano or voice through the university). After finishing the theory program, I now take piano composition privately.

When I compose, I usually do it all by notation rather than playing something in and recording it direct.

Collaborations: I would be absolutely delighted to collaborate on projects, even those that are far outside the realm of music I normally produce. On the production side I'll be glad to lend my hand at vocals or see what I can do orchestration wise. I'm also pretty good at word-setting if you need someone to come up with a melody for the lyrics (and I'm also pretty good at writing a descant), regardless of the genre.
